 My Creative Critical Reflective Questions!!!

 This is our opening sequence, thanks for keeping with us through our journey. 

Today is April 13, and me and my group edited the last part of the movie to make the last product to be submitted. This was the last day to edit, and we finished the film. As soon as I got home, I went to Charlie's house to review the film, and make sure it was ready to submit. Me and Charlie only really had one more thing to insert in the movie, and it was the title such as the music, and the actors names in the film. I wanted to finish the film today because I'm going to be busy tomorrow. Everything we were worried about was fixed, and I am confident in my film. The final transitions were very smoothed, and me and Charlie made sure they looked good. The IMovie IPhone app really did a good job for our film. The film is at 1 minute and 32 seconds, which means the film is at a decent time. The final music used was very good and everyone in the group liked it.   The audience will like this opening sequence since all of the good edits we made. The video quality of our film is also...

 Today is April 11th, and me and my group made changes to our film after the film review. I believe that our film looks better after making the changes to the film. I listened a lot to what Iago said, that would make my film better. Me and my group kept the music the same because we liked it, and Iago said it was good, it also made the films better. The music was very thrilling which made us not change it after the film review. Me and my group did not need to re film because the quality was good, so me and my group made no changes on it. We filmed some scenes to match the angles yesterday, since Iago suggested it. It was three scenes, and they like way better then before. This only took a couple of hours to re film, and it was not hard to reedit. We used iMovie again since Iago liked it, and the quality was very good.   I also fixed the volume in the film because it was a little low at first.  Today is April 7th, and me and my group started to finish editing the scenes we filmed. I went to my group member Charlie's house again to finish the editing. Charlie's software wasn't working that well the other day, but it seemed to work very well today. Me and Charlie almost edited the whole film today, and it should take only one more day. Me and my group were choosing the font we will use for the opening sequence. I suggested a black block like text, and Charlie approved. I liked the block like text because it was conservative, and it doesn't distract from the opening sequence. We didn't use too many fades because it would make the film drag on. However, the film will have fades when necessary. For example, when an actor looks back as if they are reflecting on the past, me and my group will use a fade here.  The fades will take place later in the editing since it'll make the film took best.  Today is 4/4/22 and me and my group started our film review. Me and my group asked someone who is not in our group to review our film. We wanted to hear their thoughts about the film, and if any changes needed to be made. So me and my group used my friend Iago to review our film. Me and my group he is a good person to show because he loves films, and he took media studies in the past. I showed Iago the film today in school. Me and my group put all the scenes in order and believe that Iago will like the film. Me and my could not wait for what he has to say. I was mostly curious about what he thought about the music because I thought the music was very good for the film. However me and my group weren't quite finished with the whole film so we needed an opinion on it so far.  Iago said that the music was very good, and the quality of the scenes were very well. iMovie has very good quality so me and my group expected good quality. But he did not like how certain shots were filmed...

 Today is March 31st; me and my group started editing the scenes we filmed. I went to my group member Charles house to start editing. It will take awhile to edit the scenes and put the music in the film. We got a lot of time on the scenes, so we will need to make sure the film is around two minutes. The first thing I did was trying to find thrilling music to fit the scenes. I found some on YouTube, but I need to make sure I pick the right one. Me and Charles are trying to find a way to make the actors dialogue has higher volume because it is a little low. I believe that we will be able to solve the problem. Our title sequence look very good so far. I edited it to make it look spooky and to fit what the film is about.  I also explored possible animation I can include in the film. But I am not too sure if I will use any because it might not fit with the thriller genre.  Today is March 28th, and me and my group filmed scenes 9-12 today. Me and my group took a couple days of filming off for spring break, and we finished filming the scenes today. Me and my group had very good recordings today and we filmed them at the park. I was relieved today was our last day needed to film. In scene 9, the kidnapper and Nick approach a vehicle to get in, and Nick refused to go in and asked for an explanation for everything that is going on. This scene took us a couple of tries but it was relatively easy. Me and my group used eye level shots and over the shoulder shots. The kidnapper did explain what was happening, which gave Nicks trust. In scene 10, the kidnapper sat Nick down and told him everything about the victim, who is now the enemy. My group member kept forgetting his lines since there was a lot, I did too, but we finished in a good amount of time.  This will be in a eye level shot and will show a flashback into scene 11.  Today is March 17th, and me and my group filmed scenes 6-8 after school yesterday. Me and my group planned to finish the filming yesterday but it started raining so we have to finish the rest of the scenes in the coming days. I was very disappointed since me and my group didn't finish filming all the scenes. This is the second time me and my group got rained on while filming. However, me and my group very good scene/recording today. The scenes today were filmed at the park. In scene 6, the kidnapper re-visited the scene and talks about their history with the victim. The kidnapper explains his jealousy, and this is revealed in the title sequence. This scene was most likely our longest scene and had a bit of difficulty. It took a while for us to remember our lines in the dialogue between the kidnapper and the victim. I was very relieved after this scene because the other scenes were not as hard in this scene.   Today is March 14th and me and my group filmed scenes 1-5 today after school. Me and my group were at the park for about an hour today filming and got good recordings today. I was eager to get started on filming the scenes since we could not the other day since it started raining. The first scene was me opening a door to a mystery, I filmed this scene earlier today and it only took about 15 seconds; it was in mostly eye level and I made sure to seem confused about the mysterious things. After this scene, I went to the park with my group members to film the other scenes. This scene is where I was walking towards the basketball court with the victim. This scene was a long shot. It took us about five minutes to get this scene right because people on the courts kept getting in the way. Me and my group were also trying to get the camera to focus.  Today is March 10th and me and my group were getting ready to start filming our scenes. Me and my group planned to film our first couple scenes today at the park after school finished. But just as soon school finished, it started pouring outside so me and my group had to adjust our plan quick. I told my group members that they can come to my house, and watch more example films of thriller. Me and my group know exactly what we need to make a great thriller film, but watching example films does not hurt. I was really looking forward to filming the first couple scenes today. But me and my group made the best of the situation. Me and my group also decided that we will begin filming on Saturday since the weather will be perfect. Some of the thriller films we watched were Blacklight, and Old.  Today is March 7th and me and my group have worked on the music we will use in our film. I have already started the process of using the music in the film that will best fit for the certain scenes. At first, me and my group could not decide what music to use for the film. But me and my group searched different thrilling and establishing music and we found the ones me and my group like best. Me and my group will use establishing music for the beginning of the film. And my film will use thrilling music for climax and important events. Important events such as the kidnapper in our film escaping, and the vehicle driving off. The establishing music will take place for about the first 20-30 seconds of the film and get the film to establish a meaning and help the audience get interested. Here is our storyboard, and everything that will be included in our film!! Sheet 1: To start off our film, Nick opens the door to a question, this question will make the audience wonder what he exactly is looking for, in which he is looking for a mysterious item. Something that connects the characters involved in a mysterious way. To capture this we will use many angles, like eye line shots, and even some wide angle shots.  Next, nick, and the victim will walk towards the basketball hoop, thinking that the mysterious item they are looking for is near there. This scene will require a long shot. As that scene concludes, the next will also primarily take place at the basketball hoop, as nick and the victim begin to question themselves on where exactly the eerie item is. Long shots will continue to be used, but also an over the shoulder shot, and eye level shots. Nick and the victim begin to become concerned, as they believe they are being scammed, so they call the one again "mysterio...

 This is our groups information on the specifics on our title sequences through our film: Font: We will use a solid, blocky style large bold font, that gives an intimidating feel and captures the goal of our overall thriller genre, and suspenseful tone throughout. Colors: For the most part, darker, more bold colors will be used in our title sequence, we want the focus to be on the film itself and bright colors risk the audiences attention from being taken away from that. Size: We are going to use a smaller font size in our title sequence, nevertheless we are sure to make the font plenty big for our audience to be able to recognize who took part in this film. But, again we want most of the attention to be drawn towards the film we are working so hard to create!  Me and my group are starting to prepare for the film and what is involved in filming it. Over the last couple weeks, we have figured out the location, participants, health, schedule, and backup plan.  Location: The locations will be frost park and a car. At frost park there will be an actor on his daily walk and there will a different actor spying on him. So we will have two actors at the park and on person filming us. Frost is a great location because our genre is thriller, and many things that are thrilling can occur at the park so me and my group feel it is a great location. The second will be a car. In the film, one of the actors gets kidnapped, and the other actor puts him in the car. Then, they start driving with the other actor mobilized.  Participants: There will be three participants in the film. There will be two main actors, and we will have a group member to film.  For our title blog we chose "Splice." A title sequence from a movie in the thriller genre. Here is some information we pulled for the title sequence. 1. How many titles, are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones? Throughout the 3 minute and 30 second video, the video showed 32 title scenes. This opening was more like an end credit, it included the producer companies, actors, producers, directors, etc. At the end of the title scene it showed "Splice" with the letters enlarged and held for a few seconds. The camera looked like it was going through the body of something and along the way titles would transition in and slowly fade and a new title was coming in. 2. What connotations do the images carry? (How do they make you feel) The title sequences first contains images of many different x-rays with titles in every other picture.  For this title design, we choose "outbreak". A title sequence from a movie in the thriller genre. Here is some information, that our group did as we researched this title sequence. 1. How many titles are displayed during the opening sequence to the film? Which ones? Throughout the title sequence there were 28 different titles displayed through the scenes. As the film began, the lead actors, or main characters of the film's names were presented in blue bold letters, later, after about four of these titles the name of the movie came up in larger text, "outbreak." After this a new scene transitioned that displayed a "present day" text, and shortly after the setting was displayed as another title. Then, smaller, less important actor titles were displayed to the audience.  Me and my group were researching title designs and opening sequences and we came across two really cool websites! First, we found a website called Artofthetitle.com. This website will substantially help our group in the production process. Why did we research opening sequences? Well, we wanted to get an idea of what a sample film or something similar should look like. By doing this, it helps our group come up with a better product in the end. Furthermore, by researching sample opening sequences it helps give our group inspiration, or other ideas to include in ours. By finding this website, our group can now refer to them when confused or come across a problem.
