Preparing for the film (planning)


 Me and my group are starting to prepare for the film and what is involved in filming it. Over the last couple weeks, we have figured out the location, participants, health, schedule, and backup plan. 

Location:

The locations will be frost park and a car. At frost park there will be an actor on his daily walk and there will a different actor spying on him. So we will have two actors at the park and on person filming us. Frost is a great location because our genre is thriller, and many things that are thrilling can occur at the park so me and my group feel it is a great location.

The second will be a car. In the film, one of the actors gets kidnapped, and the other actor puts him in the car. Then, they start driving with the other actor mobilized. 

Participants:

There will be three participants in the film. There will be two main actors, and we will have a group member to film. However, we might incorporate the group that films into the film.

Schedule: 

On February 2nd, me and my group came up with our pitch

On February 8th, me and my group researched different film in the thriller genre

On February 14th, me and my group researched conventions in the thriller genre

On February 18th, me and my group researched title sequences in the thriller genre

On March 4th, me and my group will have the storyboard complete.

Between March 5th and April 5th, me and my group will film the movie.

Between April 6th and April 10th, me and my group will edit the film.

Backup Plan: 

If the weather is not good, then we can reschedule since we will have a month to film the scenes. It will not take a whole month to film it all, it should only take a couple days. If we really needed to, we can film at one of my group members house and keep the scenes the same, it would just be a different location.

Health:

Me and my group will have a fine health in the film.

 For the first movie that our group researches, we choose a thriller called "Death Wish". Here are some conventions that we found in the blog that we liked, did not like, and overall conventions that we should use in our film. Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. To start, a lot of the angles used have underlining purposes. For example, the antagonist in this film are usually represented with low angles that shows them having power over another subject. Production (music)

 Today is March 7th and me and my group have worked on the music we will use in our film. I have already started the process of using the music in the film that will best fit for the certain scenes. At first, me and my group could not decide what music to use for the film. But me and my group searched different thrilling and establishing music and we found the ones me and my group like best. Me and my group will use establishing music for the beginning of the film. And my film will use thrilling music for climax and important events. Important events such as the kidnapper in our film escaping, and the vehicle driving off. The establishing music will take place for about the first 20-30 seconds of the film and get the film to establish a meaning and help the audience get interested. Convention Research (Skyscraper)

 Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. The angles and the clamps have their own purposes. We liked that the costumes because they were very casual since the movie takes place in a skyscraper. They were also props such as machine guns being shot, during the rising action of the movie. We like that it gives the audience a sense of suspense with the guns being shot. The lighting used since its in a big city gives a thrilling vibe. We definitely want to use a certain lighting in our film. The lighting gives a natural thrilling feel. Finally, we like the sound used in the movie. The sound of suspense attracts the audience which is very good for the film. Conventions that my group didn't like: My group didn't like certain things found in the film.
