Production (Filming Cancelled)


 Today is March 10th and me and my group were getting ready to start filming our scenes. Me and my group planned to film our first couple scenes today at the park after school finished. But just as soon school finished, it started pouring outside so me and my group had to adjust our plan quick. I told my group members that they can come to my house, and watch more example films of thriller. Me and my group know exactly what we need to make a great thriller film, but watching example films does not hurt. I was really looking forward to filming the first couple scenes today. But me and my group made the best of the situation. Me and my group also decided that we will begin filming on Saturday since the weather will be perfect. Some of the thriller films we watched were Blacklight, and Old. Me and my group almost changed our minds and went to the park after it dried, but it got dark so we couldn't.

   I saw the music in the films we watched today and I believe that I picked great music for my film. Me and my group really bonded today while watching the films and it will help us when we film. Me and my group also worked on finding the props and costumes we will use. We already know that we are using a car, but me and my group wanted to see if we could make it better. Me and my group also decided that my brother can help film some of the scenes on Saturday. One of the scenes I would've worked on today was when our actor gets kidnapped. Another scene would be when one of our actors is walking and the other actor is watching him, and plotting for revenge. Those scenes will take about 1 hours to get completely right. I also have to make sure the camera angles will be good for that certain scene. Me and my group cannot wait to begin filming on Saturday.

 For the first movie that our group researches, we choose a thriller called "Death Wish". Here are some conventions that we found in the blog that we liked, did not like, and overall conventions that we should use in our film. Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. To start, a lot of the angles used have underlining purposes. For example, the antagonist in this film are usually represented with low angles that shows them having power over another subject. To give the film a more modern feel, the costumes worn during the duration was more modern, causal clothing which is something that my group actually liked. Production (music)

 Today is March 7th and me and my group have worked on the music we will use in our film. I have already started the process of using the music in the film that will best fit for the certain scenes. At first, me and my group could not decide what music to use for the film. But me and my group searched different thrilling and establishing music and we found the ones me and my group like best. Me and my group will use establishing music for the beginning of the film. And my film will use thrilling music for climax and important events. Important events such as the kidnapper in our film escaping, and the vehicle driving off. The establishing music will take place for about the first 20-30 seconds of the film and get the film to establish a meaning and help the audience get interested. Convention Research (Skyscraper)

 Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. The angles and the clamps have their own purposes. We liked that the costumes because they were very casual since the movie takes place in a skyscraper. They were also props such as machine guns being shot, during the rising action of the movie. We like that it gives the audience a sense of suspense with the guns being shot. The lighting used since its in a big city gives a thrilling vibe. We definitely want to use a certain lighting in our film. The lighting gives a natural thrilling feel. Finally, we like the sound used in the movie. The sound of suspense attracts the audience which is very good for the film. Conventions that my group didn't like: My group didn't like certain things found in the film.
