Production (Filming)


  Today is March 14th and me and my group filmed scenes 1-5 today after school. Me and my group were at the park for about an hour today filming and got good recordings today. I was eager to get started on filming the scenes since we could not the other day since it started raining. The first scene was me opening a door to a mystery, I filmed this scene earlier today and it only took about 15 seconds; it was in mostly eye level and I made sure to seem confused about the mysterious things. After this scene, I went to the park with my group members to film the other scenes. This scene is where I was walking towards the basketball court with the victim. This scene was a long shot. It took us about five minutes to get this scene right because people on the courts kept getting in the way. Me and my group were also trying to get the camera to focus. It was also pretty windy so me and my group had to retry a couple times.

  The next scene was also at the basketball court and the scene was me and the victim looking around seeing where the eerie sound was coming from. This scene was also a long shot. It did not take long at all to film this scene since the people at the park left. The next scene, is where I was filmed looking concerned, and thinking I am getting scammed, so I called the ''mysterious people'' and I found something alarming. This scene was filmed in a long shot and a extreme close up shoot. This scene felt very cheesy for me, but I was able to pull through. The next scene was when the kidnapper was spying on me and the victim, and he started running at us. This scene was an over the shoulder shot. This scene was the longest one to film today, it was because we had to make sure the kidnappers running was on point. After this scene, we ended for the day, and me and my group will film more scenes in the coming days.

 For the first movie that our group researches, we choose a thriller called "Death Wish". Here are some conventions that we found in the blog that we liked, did not like, and overall conventions that we should use in our film. Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. To start, a lot of the angles used have underlining purposes. For example, the antagonist in this film are usually represented with low angles that shows them having power over another subject. To give the film a more modern feel, the costumes worn during the duration was more modern, causal clothing which is something that my group actually liked. Production (music)

 Today is March 7th and me and my group have worked on the music we will use in our film. I have already started the process of using the music in the film that will best fit for the certain scenes. At first, me and my group could not decide what music to use for the film. But me and my group searched different thrilling and establishing music and we found the ones me and my group like best. Me and my group will use establishing music for the beginning of the film. And my film will use thrilling music for climax and important events. Important events such as the kidnapper in our film escaping, and the vehicle driving off. The establishing music will take place for about the first 20-30 seconds of the film and get the film to establish a meaning and help the audience get interested. Convention Research (Skyscraper)

 Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. The angles and the clamps have their own purposes. We liked that the costumes because they were very casual since the movie takes place in a skyscraper. They were also props such as machine guns being shot, during the rising action of the movie. We like that it gives the audience a sense of suspense with the guns being shot. The lighting used since its in a big city gives a thrilling vibe. We definitely want to use a certain lighting in our film. The lighting gives a natural thrilling feel. Finally, we like the sound used in the movie. The sound of suspense attracts the audience which is very good for the film. Conventions that my group didn't like: My group didn't like certain things found in the film.
