The genre we choose for our opening sequence

Me and my group have come up with what genre we want or opening sequence to be. We decided today and we had a good discussion on what genre to pick. We picked the one that we all felt comfortable with and the one that we saw most interesting. The genre we choose is thriller. We choose thriller because we believe that we can make a great opening sequence using this genre. Me and my group like the camera angles, mis-en-scene, editing, and the sound that is involved in thriller films. We already began on what our opening sequence should be about. We feel the audience of the opening sequence will love the thriller film. The examples of the thriller movies me and my group researches caught our eyes. So that is why we choose our opening sequence to be a thriller.

Furthermore, we also choose this genre because it gives the audience a happy medium between emotions. Horror might drive its audience away. But, a PG, family movie night might seem childish or not appeal to our target audience. Also, not only is thriller a medium between emotions, its also a medium between a horror movie, and an action in a way. It gives our group the versatility to perform cool stunts, while still creating suspenseful themes. We are very happy with our choice and believe this genre will fit our storyline perfectly. Our group feels that this genre gives us room to work with an area that we are interested, that keeps audience on edge. Another point about thriller is that it is unique enough to come up with new, innovative ideas. This is definitely something that our group will take into consideration. Overall, we are happy that we choose thriller as our genre!
