Introduction for movie!





 My name is Nicholas Pearlman. I go to Fort Lauderdale High and I am in the 11th grade. My favorite hobbies are biking, playing basketball, and skateboarding. I have loved media studies this year and taking it was a great idea so far. One of the reasons I took media studies was because I wanted to learn more about films and how they are produced. This project will help accomplish my goal in that. I took this class for a better chance of getting my Cambridge diploma. I am really looking forward to this movie project. I might take A level media studies next year. Learning about movies are really fun and I will take what I learn in this class to the real world. These last blogs will be the best ones because I have learned a lot throughout the year. 

These last blogs are very hefty and will be time consuming. But they will prepare me for the final task. I have siblings that also go to Fort Lauderdale High. They will most likely take AICE MEDIA STUDIES also. I love watching movies so they will help me in this class. I like sport movies and superhero movies. I have looked forward to going to class this year since it is so fun. I will do all I can do pass the class with best score possible. This course has helped me enjoy school this year. This is the start of my movie project, enjoy the journey!

 For the first movie that our group researches, we choose a thriller called "Death Wish". Here are some conventions that we found in the blog that we liked, did not like, and overall conventions that we should use in our film. Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. To start, a lot of the angles used have underlining purposes. For example, the antagonist in this film are usually represented with low angles that shows them having power over another subject. To give the film a more modern feel, the costumes worn during the duration was more modern, causal clothing which is something that my group actually liked. Production (music)

 Today is March 7th and me and my group have worked on the music we will use in our film. I have already started the process of using the music in the film that will best fit for the certain scenes. At first, me and my group could not decide what music to use for the film. But me and my group searched different thrilling and establishing music and we found the ones me and my group like best. Me and my group will use establishing music for the beginning of the film. And my film will use thrilling music for climax and important events. Important events such as the kidnapper in our film escaping, and the vehicle driving off. The establishing music will take place for about the first 20-30 seconds of the film and get the film to establish a meaning and help the audience get interested. Convention Research (Skyscraper)

 Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. The angles and the clamps have their own purposes. We liked that the costumes because they were very casual since the movie takes place in a skyscraper. They were also props such as machine guns being shot, during the rising action of the movie. We like that it gives the audience a sense of suspense with the guns being shot. The lighting used since its in a big city gives a thrilling vibe. We definitely want to use a certain lighting in our film. The lighting gives a natural thrilling feel. Finally, we like the sound used in the movie. The sound of suspense attracts the audience which is very good for the film. Conventions that my group didn't like: My group didn't like certain things found in the film.
