Filming the scenes at 7-11 and at my house

 




Scenes 7-9

On December 8th, me and my group filmed scenes 7-9 for the music video. Me, my group member Charlie, and my brother filmed these scenes at the 7-11 and my house. Me and Charlie were in scenes 7 and 8 and me and my brother were in scene 9. The props we used were slurpees, pizza, and a TV. For the 7th scene, me and my group member Charlie, are walking to 7-11 talking and having a good time. My brother was filming this scene for me and Charlie. This scene took a while because we had to wait for the door to be cleared since people were walking in and out from 7-11. We also had a 2nd part to this scene since me and my group member was filmed walking out of 7-11 also. We choose to go to 7-11 because the song mentions 7-11 so it will fit in. The next scene me and Charlie got items from 7-11 such as slurpees and pizza, and my brother Zach filmed us getting the items. 

Me and group members showed us filling up a slurpee cup and getting pizza. This scene only took one try to film since it was straight forward. I wanted to have a scene where were getting food because it shows were having a good day.  For the next scene, me and my brother were watching a Lakers game acting like they won. Since the song says "the Lakers beat the Supersonics", me and my group made a scene were the Lakers win a close game. This scene took a couple tries because I had find the part of the game where the Lakers made a game winning play. And then I acted like the Lakers won and got excited. After the 7-11 scenes me and my group members went to my house to film the Lakers scene. The weather was perfect for our scenes today. It would not matter if it rained during the Lakers scene since that scene was inside. The next day we film, it will be the last time because me and my group will be done with all the scenes.

 For the first movie that our group researches, we choose a thriller called "Death Wish". Here are some conventions that we found in the blog that we liked, did not like, and overall conventions that we should use in our film. Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. To start, a lot of the angles used have underlining purposes. For example, the antagonist in this film are usually represented with low angles that shows them having power over another subject. To give the film a more modern feel, the costumes worn during the duration was more modern, causal clothing which is something that my group actually liked. Props were also fairly basic, hand guns were used through rising actions because they always give the audience a sense of fear, of suspense, which we liked. Production (music)

 Today is March 7th and me and my group have worked on the music we will use in our film. I have already started the process of using the music in the film that will best fit for the certain scenes. At first, me and my group could not decide what music to use for the film. But me and my group searched different thrilling and establishing music and we found the ones me and my group like best. Me and my group will use establishing music for the beginning of the film. And my film will use thrilling music for climax and important events. Important events such as the kidnapper in our film escaping, and the vehicle driving off. The establishing music will take place for about the first 20-30 seconds of the film and get the film to establish a meaning and help the audience get interested. Convention Research (Skyscraper)

 Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. The angles and the clamps have their own purposes. We liked that the costumes because they were very casual since the movie takes place in a skyscraper. They were also props such as machine guns being shot, during the rising action of the movie. We like that it gives the audience a sense of suspense with the guns being shot. The lighting used since its in a big city gives a thrilling vibe. We definitely want to use a certain lighting in our film. The lighting gives a natural thrilling feel. Finally, we like the sound used in the movie. The sound of suspense attracts the audience which is very good for the film. Conventions that my group didn't like: My group didn't like certain things found in the film.
