An interesting day of research
My group is going to do a music video, that is based off of generally having a great day! Full of adventure, using the clean version, and parts of "It Was A Good Day" By Ice Cube! The Music video will feature activities like basketball, waking up, and eating breakfast.
Costumes: For costumes, our group will be using clothing that is somewhat athletic for a basketball scene, pajamas for waking up out of bed, and casual cloths throughout the rest of the music video. Casual, hip cloths are common in old-school rap genre and its correlating music videos.
Props: Out team will be using some different props throughout filming. Basketballs, plates, silverware, food or traditional breakfast items are some of the items that will be used throughout our music video. Also, these props and much more are common in typical old-school rap music videos.
Sound/music: We will use "It Was A Good Day" by Ice Cube for our main sound device throughout almost the entire music video. However, the only other sound there will be is a simple alarm clock notice in the beginning of the video.
Our genre of old school rap, correlates with our music video to show our audience that sometimes its feels good just to have a day to yourself, and to make it a good day
. this convention also shows the audience that sometimes we should take a break from our stressful lives, and enjoy our life for what we want it to be! Old school rap further supports the idea that life is pleasant, and can be full of adventure.
eye level angles are used in many old-school rap music videos to show the audience activities being done, bur more specifically. Also, over the shoulder angles are used in old school ap music videos to match the lyrics and show who the subject can be interacting with.. Also, wide shots are going to be used to show the interactions of our actors having a good time. Most of the angles used in our music video support that it will be in the old-school rap genre, for example, eye level angles help to portray that the subject is talking to the camera or rapping towards the camera. This is typically seen in old school rap music videos.
the music video uses pathos, to show meaning and provide emotions like happiness to convey the meaning of the song. Old school rap always plays with and emphasizes emotion not only in the music but also music videos. Highlighting this point is crucial because it helps define the overall genre.
