Filming on the field


                                                      Filming Day 1: Football field

On September 30th, me and my group started filming our commercial. All of my group members were available today to film all scenes for the commercial. As the actor, I brought and wore the props for the film. I had to wear the clothes throughout the whole school day. I made sure that I was acting the way my storyboard said I would act for the commercial. There was a lot of other groups at the field filming for their project also. Me and my group had to make sure that we were the only people in the shot. We made sure that the scenes during the commercial were accurate and good enough to use. First my group members filmed my shoes up to my headband because all of my products were Nike. Next, I threw my football to one of my group members to show that Nike improves your game. Finally I threw a high ball so that my group member filming can slow mo the ball in the air. 

We had a little bit of difficulty filming the ball in the air. But eventually we were able to get it right. The wind was also blowing really hard so I could not throw the ball with the acceleration I wanted to. After the track we went to the gym. Me and two of my group members were filming one other group member playing volleyball in the gym with her Nike pads. I had to leave my group for a little. I had to leave because I got called in to the office. My group worked on the other 2 volleyball scenes without me. But I was all good because I acted in the first three scenes. We need to review our films to see if we need to film more, but me and my group think we finished and now we need to edit.

 For the first movie that our group researches, we choose a thriller called "Death Wish". Here are some conventions that we found in the blog that we liked, did not like, and overall conventions that we should use in our film. Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. To start, a lot of the angles used have underlining purposes. For example, the antagonist in this film are usually represented with low angles that shows them having power over another subject. To give the film a more modern feel, the costumes worn during the duration was more modern, causal clothing which is something that my group actually liked. Props were also fairly basic, hand guns were used through rising actions because they always give the audience a sense of fear, of suspense, which we liked. Production (music)

 Today is March 7th and me and my group have worked on the music we will use in our film. I have already started the process of using the music in the film that will best fit for the certain scenes. At first, me and my group could not decide what music to use for the film. But me and my group searched different thrilling and establishing music and we found the ones me and my group like best. Me and my group will use establishing music for the beginning of the film. And my film will use thrilling music for climax and important events. Important events such as the kidnapper in our film escaping, and the vehicle driving off. The establishing music will take place for about the first 20-30 seconds of the film and get the film to establish a meaning and help the audience get interested. Convention Research (Skyscraper)

 Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. The angles and the clamps have their own purposes. We liked that the costumes because they were very casual since the movie takes place in a skyscraper. They were also props such as machine guns being shot, during the rising action of the movie. We like that it gives the audience a sense of suspense with the guns being shot. The lighting used since its in a big city gives a thrilling vibe. We definitely want to use a certain lighting in our film. The lighting gives a natural thrilling feel. Finally, we like the sound used in the movie. The sound of suspense attracts the audience which is very good for the film. Conventions that my group didn't like: My group didn't like certain things found in the film.
