A good day of editing



 Editing Blog 2:


Hello, today is October 8th. Today is the day where we have a 2nd day to edit the commercial. I have edited everything with the help of my group members so know we are officially done with editing. So today in class, I was watching the commercial and admiring what me and my groups members created. I remembered to edit all the scenes to ensure that the commercial was 30 seconds long. Me and my group members would all use one editing tool. I was on video call with my group members. I made suggestion to properly edit the film and my other group members would make suggestions so that the film was good. I sometimes had to leave the video call early. So I made sure to get all the editing done I need to before I left.

So today for me was a day to chill out. I studied more of the film vocab terms so I will more than prepared for the final test. Learning the terms will also help me understand media studies more. I also looked at other editing apps to see if I can use a better one next time I need to edit. I looked because when I was editing, I had some difficulties such as making slow motion scenes so I looked just in case. But overall, the editing website I used was really good. When I edited, I made sure that both Nike scenes were even on time was that the commercial was more sound. It was good however that I was able to edit at home because the school computers are less efficient. Overall, I had a fun time editing.

 For the first movie that our group researches, we choose a thriller called "Death Wish". Here are some conventions that we found in the blog that we liked, did not like, and overall conventions that we should use in our film. Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. To start, a lot of the angles used have underlining purposes. For example, the antagonist in this film are usually represented with low angles that shows them having power over another subject. To give the film a more modern feel, the costumes worn during the duration was more modern, causal clothing which is something that my group actually liked. Production (music)

 Today is March 7th and me and my group have worked on the music we will use in our film. I have already started the process of using the music in the film that will best fit for the certain scenes. At first, me and my group could not decide what music to use for the film. But me and my group searched different thrilling and establishing music and we found the ones me and my group like best. Me and my group will use establishing music for the beginning of the film. And my film will use thrilling music for climax and important events. Important events such as the kidnapper in our film escaping, and the vehicle driving off. The establishing music will take place for about the first 20-30 seconds of the film and get the film to establish a meaning and help the audience get interested. Convention Research (Skyscraper)

 Conventions that we liked: There was a lot of conventions used in this film that our group likes. The angles and the clamps have their own purposes. We liked that the costumes because they were very casual since the movie takes place in a skyscraper. They were also props such as machine guns being shot, during the rising action of the movie. We like that it gives the audience a sense of suspense with the guns being shot. The lighting used since its in a big city gives a thrilling vibe. We definitely want to use a certain lighting in our film. The lighting gives a natural thrilling feel. Finally, we like the sound used in the movie. The sound of suspense attracts the audience which is very good for the film. Conventions that my group didn't like: My group didn't like certain things found in the film.
